Love Rescued Me
Without Volunteers We Simply Wouldn't Exist....
Our entire organization is made up of volunteers and we have the best! Looking to get involved? We’d love to have you! We have several areas that you can assist us with… If you are interested in volunteering in any way, then please fill out our volunteer application below.
Without our Wonderful Volunteers we would not exist. See below for various ways you can help and join our boxer loving family.
Fostering: – Please consider fostering a Boxer! We are always in need of foster homes! We also have a wonderful team to guide you with fostering along the way.
Types of fostering you could help with:
- Regular fostering- These foster homes take in puppies to adult boxers.
- Temp fostering – we are always in need of temp foster homes for when one of our foster homes goes on vacation or has an unexpected emergency.
- Senior fostering – Maybe you don’t have an active lifestyle and love more of a laid-back boxer. CBR rescues many senior boxers that owners no long want or those that are dumped at a shelter because they are old. We bring them in and treat them like royalty as well. We do have adopters looking for seniors and they do get adopted like the younger boxers.
- Hospice foster- Many times we rescue a boxer that doesn’t have very long left or they have medical conditions.
Here are the top 10 reasons to foster a Boxer:
- Fostering a Boxer saves not one life, but two. Your foster dogs life and the next Boxer CBR can save.
- Rescued Boxers desperately need people who “get” Boxers. Not everyone understands or appreciates the breed specific nature of Boxers, energy and comedic personalities. If you understand “Boxer” please become a foster.
- Boxers keep you fit. This breed is active and will keep you active in turn. You’re welcome.
- Boxer owners live longer. Betty White was quoted as saying, “A sense of humor has kept me young.” We believe this is true too if you have a Boxer. They are the comedians of dogs, and if you have a sensor of humor, the laughter they provide will keep you alive forever.
- Foster Boxers make excellent wing-men/wing-women. Trying to meet Mr. or Mrs. Right or your new bestie? Boxers are a great way to meet new people and in turn, they get to build on their social skills. Win-win.
- Foster Boxers are a great way to test drive a dog. Not sure if you’re ready to make the 10–15-year plunge to adding a Boxer to your home? Fostering will give you the experience you need to make this decision.
- Fostering a Boxer relieves loneliness and provides a lot of entertainment with their nub wiggles and bouncing.
- Fostering a Boxer helps them to find their forever home faster. You will learn so much about their behaviors and personality that will help new potential homes determine if this is the dog for them.
- Fostering is all the benefits of dog ownership without the expense, and some tax write-offs.
- You will be a forever hero to your foster dog.

- Being your dog’s advocate

- Administering any medications that might be needed.
- Being a positive representative for CBR when meeting potential adopters.
Transporting – Help us save a Boxer by taking on a “leg” to get one of our new fosters from a shelter to his/her new foster home!
Events – We are always in need of volunteers to assist us with Meet & Greets and other events that enable us to meet the community and let them know what CBR is all about!
Fundraising – Rescuing dogs is expensive.. Most come in with health issues whether simple to treat to requiring extensive surgery and we need to raise funds to cover our vet bills. If you have ideas or would like to help us spread the word about a fundraiser then please sign up!
Home Visits – We can always use more volunteers to do home visits in their area. A home visit entails visiting an applicant’s home after their application has been successfully processed to meet the family. We are looking to see that what the family has told us about their home, yard and lifestyle is true. We want to meet existing pets to see how they are and give us a better idea of which of our rescues would do best in their home.
Administrative – Organized? Looking to be involved? We can use you! Please let us know how you can help us! We are always looking for those that can assist with computer work, social media posts and mentoring.
You can’t change a dog’s past, but you can rewrite their future…
