3/13/2025:  Hello, pups and peeps! Rue here. I was rescued from the highway by a kind lady who managed to get in touch with CBR. Since she was going out of town, she couldn’t keep me and didn’t want to take me to a shelter. Thankfully, one person talked to another, and my foster parents (FPs) agreed to meet her and take me into CBR for a stray hold to ensure my family wasn’t looking for me. Once that time was up, CBR and my FPs took me to the vet to make sure I was healthy. I needed a little vet care, but nothing they couldn’t fix right up!

I’m looking for a fun-loving, active family that can keep up with my playful antics while also helping me become the good girl my FPs know I can be!

Did someone say treats? I am a fast learner when it comes to those! I am not picky at all! I’ve learned commands like “kennel,” “sit,” “stay,” and “lay down.” I’m working on “wait,” which is a little harder for me, but I manage to do it most of the time.

Kids? Did someone say kids? Oh, I love them so much! I want to hug them, shower them with kisses, and make them love me! My FPs are helping me understand my size and energy. I might be too much for some little ones! However, with time, patience, and practice, I know I can learn to be the perfect companion. Since I’m a 51-pound puppy, I might not do well with kids who don’t understand that I don’t mean to push them over or accidentally tear up their toys if they leave them out.

Do you have some doggy friends for me? I love to romp and roll! I might be too much for my foster brother, who is 8 years old. He does his best to keep up with me! My foster parents say he has lived with older dogs since his rescue, so he’s gotten used to a more laid-back lifestyle. Would your dog(s) be tolerant of my playful energy?

Regarding cats, I haven’t had any experience with them. Given my energy and lack of awareness of my size, my FPs would say “no” to that! They don’t want me to accidentally harm anyone. I wouldn’t mean to! I tend to chase leaves when the wind blows, so who knows what would happen if a fluffy toy ran away from me! I don’t have a prey drive, but my FPs feel it’s too risky.

So, do you and your family have the time, patience, and the right home for me? I truly hope so! My FPs are excited to share more information about me when the time comes for us to match up!

I wish us both the best of luck in finding a forever home for me and a furry friend for you and your family!

Love,
Rue 🐾❤️💕
