1/3/2025: Hello, fellow dog enthusiasts! Foster mom here, ready to share another delightful update on our dear foster pup, Ruthie. Now, let me tell you, Ruthie is quite the character. She’s a one-human-show kind of gal, preferring the undivided attention of her human and their friends. But fear not, for she can indeed coexist with other pets in the household. Currently, she shares her space with two furry foster brothers, and we’ve found a rhythm that suits everyone: alternating between crate time and free time in the house or outside. This routine is especially helpful for one of her fur brothers, who’s learning that the crate isn’t such a scary place after all.
Ruthie, on the other hand, is perfectly content in her crate, often indulging in long, restful naps. She also enjoys being out and about with her humans, taking leisurely naps throughout the day. At night, she has her own little room where she can stretch her legs and sleep peacefully, and she seems quite content with this arrangement.
Now, when it comes to playtime with her fur brothers, Ruthie has a bit of a bossy streak. She enjoys a good romp with her passive brother outside, but after about ten minutes, she decides she wants to be in charge, which can be a bit intimidating for her playmate. So, we’ve put a pause on that particular playtime for now.
Ruthie is a fan of hard bones and small balls, but her true love is a good bone or antler to chew on. She’ll dash short distances with all the bulldog/boxer strength she can muster, playing keep-away with her bone for a good fifteen minutes before needing a rest. Every morning, when she emerges from her room, she greets us with a stretch and immediately searches for a bone to carry around. After her bathroom break outside, she returns with a burst of energy, eager to find her bone and play.
Ruthie is quite the lady indoors, never having an accident and happily staying inside while the other dogs enjoy the backyard. While she may not be ready to coexist independently with other fur siblings just yet, I believe she’ll get there in time. Her charming personality continues to win us over, and her love for ice cubes is simply adorable. It’s heartwarming to see her enjoy these little treats, especially considering her journey from being emaciated to needing her food intake adjusted—a bit of a diet, if you will.
Ruthie is truly a joy, and we are grateful
12/11/2024: Greetings, esteemed humans! Queen Ruthie here, eagerly awaiting my royal forever home. My foster momma insists that you’re truly missing out if you haven’t yet adopted me. I possess the most charming personality and have an immense love for humans. As a true queen, I prefer to reign solo, so a home without other dogs is essential for my royal lifestyle. Despite my foster mom’s attempts, I’ve made it clear that the company of other dogs simply does not suit my regal tastes.
I am the perfect blend of exhilarating zoomies and delightful naps. I adore my antlers and can entertain myself with grace and poise. My favorite part of the day? Curling up on the couch with my beloved humans for some cozy snuggles. So, if you’re ready for a loyal and loving queen to grace your home, look no further than yours truly, Queen Ruthie. 🐾👑
11/17/2024: Woof woof! Let me tell you about Ruthie, the absolute best girl and foster buddy any human could dream of. Ruthie’s got the whole “chill at home” vibe down pat—she’s perfectly content lounging around the house. But give her a bone, and she’s in heaven, always on the lookout for one to carry around like a prized possession.
Now, Ruthie isn’t too keen on other dogs, but when her humans are around, she lights up like a firefly on a summer night. She adores all humans and laps up every bit of attention they shower on her. Fetch is her game, and chasing a small ball is her jam. Plus, who can resist a good belly rub? Not Ruthie!
In her foster home, Ruthie enjoys a mix of outdoor adventures and cozy kennel time. Funny enough, she prefers her kennel over her own room—go figure! She’s not one to beg for food, even when it’s tantalizingly close. And guess what? She’s mastered the art of sitting and giving her paw.
Ruthie truly is the perfect girl, though she’s not fond of the other dogs in the house. We absolutely adore her and think she’s nothing short of special. From the moment she arrived, emaciated and with barely any muscle to support her, to now confidently tackling stairs like a pro—her transformation is nothing short of miraculous.
Ruthie’s journey from hardship to becoming the wonderful girl she is today is truly something special. We can’t wait for her to find her “furever” home, where she’ll continue to be cherished and loved.
Bow-wow for now! 🐾
