10/4/2024:  Greetings from Barkley! I’ve just spent my first day with my temporary foster mom (FM), and she already says I’m a quintessential Boxer—full of love, wonderfully silly, and delightfully confident despite my recent departure from the shelter.

FM is impressed with my leash skills, although I do enjoy a brisk walk! I’m so gentle that they introduced me to their resident Boxer, and we got along splendidly.

I’m crate-trained and will happily enter the crate for you. FM offered me some treats, and something called NUBZ, but I wasn’t quite sure about them. Turkey, however, is an absolute favorite! I’m also learning this “sit” command she keeps mentioning.

One of my greatest joys is cuddling and snuggling—it’s my absolute favorite! I’m seeking a forever home with someone who wants to spend ample time with me, as I’m all about giving love, kisses, and a few playful paws. 

I would love to have a fenced yard or someone who is active and will walk me. If there is a fence, it needs to be 6’ because I’m very athletic and can scale the couch in one leap!

10/3/2024:  Introducing Barkley, the most delightful big fellow you’ll ever meet! My heart fills with joy at the sight of anyone, and I can’t help but dance around with excitement. I received an impeccable report from the veterinarian, who couldn’t resist falling in love with my charming, large head. They proclaimed me the sweetest boy and assured me that a family will be overjoyed to have me as part of their lives!
