Carolina Boxer Rescue Adoption Application

Before You Begin

Please read carefully. Your application will not be reviewed until all required steps below have been completed.

You will receive a confirmation email if your application has been submitted successfully. If you are having trouble submitting the application, please contact [email protected]

Applicants must reside in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, or Georgia.
Applicants residing in Tennessee, Maryland, or West Virginia may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Before completing this application, you must receive approval from the Carolina Boxer Rescue Board. Please contact [email protected] to request approval before proceeding.
Complete the Adoption Preparation Training.
Pay the $22 non-refundable application fee. The $22 application fee helps offset the cost of processing applications and is non-refundable. Payment is required before your application can be reviewed.
Gather your veterinarian's information.
Notify your references that they will receive an email/phone call from Carolina Boxer Rescue.
Resident dogs must be on year-round heartworm prevention.
Resident cats and dogs must be current on rabies and distemper vaccinations.
You must agree to a home visit.
You must agree to a follow-up visit after adoption.

Carolina Boxer Rescue requires that resident dogs be spayed or neutered unless there is a medical reason or they are too young. If any of your dogs are not altered, please explain. *

Important:

Carolina Boxer Rescue requires that all resident cats and dogs are current on rabies and distemper vaccinations, and that all resident dogs remain on year-round heartworm prevention. We will verify this information with your veterinarian before approving your application. Your application WILL NOT be processed if your pets are not up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm prevention.

Do you understand that rescue dogs often need time to decompress and may display temporary behavioral challenges while adjusting to a new home? *

Are you willing to work through these behavioral challenges using positive training and patience? *

If behavioral challenges arise, Carolina Boxer Rescue requires adopters to work with a qualified trainer before returning the dog. Do you agree? *

Emergency veterinary expenses for Boxers can range from a few hundred dollars to $10,000 or more. Please describe your plan for handling unexpected medical expenses. *

By submitting this application, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the Hold Harmless Agreement below.

I shall indemnify and hold harmless, to the fullest extent allowed by law, Carolina Boxer Rescue, Inc. and its directors, officers, agents, and employees from and against all claims, demands, suits, actions, payments, liabilities, judgments and expenses (including court-ordered attorneys' fees), arising out of or resulting from applicant's breach of this Agreement or his or her acts or omissions in the performance of this Agreement. I confirm that I have read and understood this agreement and consent to the use of electronic communications and records related to this document.

What Happens Next?

After submitting your application, you will receive an immediate email confirmation that we have received it.

If your application is complete and you meet our adoption requirements, it will be processed by one of our adoption volunteers. Due to the volume of applications we receive, processing may take up to 2 weeks.
