8/25/2024:  My name is Sophia, and I am a delightful lady of approximately seven years of age. Although I am uncertain of my zodiac sign, I have a profound affection for sunsets and enjoy taking leisurely strolls along the creek.

Upon my arrival at the rescue, I was in a severely underweight condition. However, I am pleased to report that I now look and feel splendid! Initially, I may appear a bit reserved, but once I am assured of love and nourishment, my true personality emerges. I take pleasure in basking in the sunlight, playing with my toys, taking short walks, and savoring my meals.

I pride myself on my impeccable manners. I refrain from digging, chewing, jumping, or climbing on furniture. Additionally, I am fully housebroken and am currently mastering the use of a doggie door.

In my foster home, I have the company of a male Boxer with whom I get along splendidly. My foster mother attributes this harmony to our gradual introduction, which allowed us ample time to decompress before meeting.

While I adore children, due to my substantial size and somewhat clumsy nature, a household with older children would be most suitable.

At first, I may exhibit a degree of timidity, but I am certain that I will thrive in an environment where I am cherished and well-fed. With a little patience and reassurance, I promise to reciprocate your love and kindness manifold.

6/14/2024: Sophia loves her Kong with kibble or a little peanut butter inside! She will play with it long after the treats are gone. She is a great walking companion on shorter walks and you barely need to hold her leash, she just walks right by your side. A lot of days, she will lay down in the yard for a belly rub and start to doze off right there as you pet her! She is in the process of learning more about car rides and needs a little coaxing and treats to be convinced to hop in but once she’s in, she loves putting her head out of the window and letting the wind blow across her big beautiful face. She is still putting on weight and will be a bigger girl but she’s so gentle and calm. She can be very spry when she first wakes up and will romp around but then is content to lounge around after. Sophia is an old soul and she’s going to be an amazing companion in her forever home.
