Volunteer Spotlight: Mel Mosier

Mel Mosier (who you might recognize as Lola’s mom!) adopted her first boxer, Leo, in 2012.  She got her feet wet attending fundraising events in Raleigh, and slowly but surely Mel found herself “fundraising head to toe!”  Mel’s favorite thing is helping coordinate fundraisers, like the upcoming Bull City Boxer Bash that she heads up.

The Bull City Boxer Bash has grown leaps and bounds since 2017, and is slated to make an even bigger impact this year- coming up this Saturday, 9/28, at Durty Bull Brewing in Durham.  Mel has worked to create lasting relationships with vendors, many of whom are returning for their third year this weekend. Mel and Lola are looking forward to seeing all of the CBR family they have gotten to know on Facebook.

Her favorite memory shows just how big of a splash Lola and Mel make on Facebook.  At a previous bash, Lola and her dad (Mel’s husband, Shane) were just enjoying the festivities.  Many became concerned by “the strange guy who had Lola,” and checked in with Mel to make sure she knew who sweet Lola was with.  Shane has considered wearing a “Relax, I’m Lola’s Dad!” shirt at this year’s bash.

Mel is already looking towards 2020 for new ideas, and new ways to support CBR!
