8/31/2024:  Dahlia came from an environment where she coexisted with numerous dogs of varying sizes. She was initially very emaciated but is gradually gaining weight. Dahlia is enjoying her three meals a day and is learning that she does not need to eat so quickly. She spends most of her day sleeping and relishes the comfort of my bed. While she is comfortable with my dogs when separated by a gate or kennel, she is not yet ready to interact with their youthful and exuberant energy. Dahlia remains quite thin and exhibits a keen interest in the cats. Although her interest is not aggressive, there is a concern that she might inadvertently harm them. Despite everything she has endured, Dahlia remains incredibly affectionate and continues to be a loving companion.
