2020 Memorials

Diesel- 1/28/20: To our baby boy & best friend, Diesel. The worst thing about losing you is not having you here to lick our tears away. You guarded, you comforted, you were our best friend. Thank you for showing us how to love during your short 4 1/2 years on this side of life. We love you and will see you again.

Roxy Winslow- 2/21/20: Roxy SMILED with her eyes, LAUGHED with her lil’ nub and LOVED with her heart! Our friends, Jennifer, Jon and Tyler, (and fur sister, Jazz, who adored her sister) had to sadly say goodbye to their sweet girl Roxy on Friday. We know their hearts are broken and that Roxy will be missed dearly.
“Sweet Roxy, we know that your back legs are now healed and you can run over the Rainbow Bridge… …your dear brother Ace is waiting for you.”

A donation was made in memory of Roxy on behalf of Gracie (CBR 2009), Zeke, Ben & Gloria Beagle.

Lucas Preston McVay Middleton – 2/12/20: Lucas “Luke” Preston McVay Middleton lost his fight with prostate cancer just shy of his 13th birthday. Luke was a refined gentleman and a well-pawed traveler. He enjoyed elevated dining and was a welcomed guest at his favorite steakhouse, the Angus Barn. Luke was a treasure and will be greatly missed by his UNC family, his Chapel Hill neighbors, and of course his friend, partner and human, Sam.

A donation was made in honor of Lucas on behalf of Melissa Haines, Jeanne Guerra and Chelsea Dodson.

Roc- CBR Hospice Foster 2/17/20:

Roc’s foster family made the difficult decision to end his suffering. Even though he was with them for a very short amount of time, he was shown what the good life was. His favorite things were egg noodles and hanging out with his foster dad.

Montgomery- CBR alum 2/14/20:

Montgomery passed away yesterday on Valentine’s Day with his family and Boxer Brother by his side. He will be greatly missed!

Duchess – CBR Alum 2/7/20: Duchess passed away on Friday.  We are truly thankful that she was able to be a part of our family. She brought a smile to my face everyday. She will be deeply missed.

Alice – CBR Alum 2/7/20: Marcus’s CBR foster fail Alice crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. She brought great joy and friendship to Marcus and everyone she met. Such a special amazing girl. Thank you to all who loved her.

Lucas – CBR Alum 2/5/20: Our Lucas has crossed the rainbow bridge. ? He was such a wonderful, sweet boy! We were so lucky to have him in our lives. We are thankful for the extra couple of weeks we had with him and for all the love and support from family and friends. Thank you!

Honey- CBR Hospice Foster 1/31/20: Nobody can fully understand the meaning of love unless he’s owned a dog. A Dog can show you more honest affection with a flick of his tail than a man can gather through a lifetime of handshakes. (by Gene Hill)

Run free sweet Honey where no pain can hurt you anymore! I’m happy you enjoy couple weeks of eating and feeling good, to short but is all we got !! She is in peace now.. ?? RIP HONEY!!

Mattie – CBR Foster 1/29/20: Well our sweet sweet Mattie Mae had a really BAD night. I have consulted with several others and we feel it best to let her “go to sleep” and stop her suffering. Please say prayers for Mattie to have a peaceful journey traveling the rainbow bridge and keep Morgan and I in your prayers. We only had her 3 weeks, but she has made a huge impact on all of us and will be greatly missed!!!!!

Camilla – CBR Hospice Foster 1/22/20: Yesterday Camilla’s coughing started getting alot worse. When I got home from work today it was still almost non-stop. We went to the vet and x-ray showed that the tumor was still growing. Her breathing was starting to get labored and Dr.Trey said that her quality of life wasn’t going to improve and we made the decision to let her go. After 2 months and 2 days with this sweet sweet soul, she gave me a few kisses and left for the rainbow bridge. This beautiful dog was loved by so many and has taken a part of my heart with her. ?
