For five years, Jessica Waldrep has been a dedicated volunteer with Carolina Boxer Rescue, making a meaningful impact on countless lives – both furry and human. Her unwavering commitment and enthusiasm are deeply appreciated by her fellow volunteers, along with every boxer she’s helped, from new arrivals to beloved CBR alums.
Jessica is highly active in the rescue, juggling multiple roles as the Eastern North Carolina event, vet, and area coordinator, as well as overseeing social media and managing the online store. Beyond these responsibilities, Jessica also serves as a transport volunteer, foster home, and adopter. She believes the most rewarding part of volunteering is “being a voice for the nubs and making a difference in their lives. Helping families find their next forever member, staying connected with adopters, and seeing the adopted nubs thrive in their new homes.” While she currently can’t foster due to her own boxer at home, she fills that gap by visiting foster homes and treating the foster dogs to some extra love and care.
Jessica treasures the connections she’s built through CBR, especially at in-person events, where she’s finally met long-time virtual friends who share her passion for rescuing boxers. With all her experience in the rescue, she encourages potential volunteers to dive in, as there’s always a way to get involved in CBR. Jessica says it’s incredibly fulfilling, with a warm and supportive community of “fellow boxer-loving enthusiasts” who have become lifelong friends.
From everyone at CBR, thank you, Jessica, for your extraordinary dedication and love for the nubs!
