10/6/2024: This little girl arrived in a frail state, unable to navigate stairs or even squat for bathroom needs. She possesses a bit of a stubborn streak; if she’s unwilling to do something, she simply lies down and becomes immovable. However, her foster parents were undeterred. They diligently harnessed her and assisted her up and down the stairs multiple times each day.

In just over a month, she has regained her weight and built muscle, now using the stairs with ease. Although she came to us clumsy, and remains so, especially when excited, she tends to bump into or bounce off objects. She adores her crate and is quite content inside it. When out in the house, she is typically a relaxed, sleeping girl.

She loves chewing on bones and is always eager to find one, especially when greeting her foster parents. Currently, she is working on getting along with the resident dogs, which is a work in progress. As an only dog, she is the perfect mix of Boxer and Bulldog. Ruthie is lower energy and prefers a bit of running around the backyard to lounging on her bed indoors. She loves both her foster mom and dad and shows no fear of other humans.

We still have some mass removal procedures to complete, but this girl is nearly ready for her forever home.

6/16/2024: Foster Ruthie one of our recent emaciated intakes is starting to feel better! She’s putting on some weight and enjoying her medicated baths. She’s getting her daily exercises to build strength in her back legs. We consulted with our age expert and based on her teeth she is probably 4-5 years old! This little girl carries her heart on her nose. She’s going to be a perfect addition to one of our families.
