Hello friends,
It’s me, Jonah. You might know me as the guy who occasionally wears a CBR team t-shirt and considers himself an invaluable member of the CBR newsletter team, but today I’ve got a very important assignment. Introducing you to my friend Layla.
We recently met outside, separated by a fence (a perfectly respectable way for two classy dogs to get to know each other). She was busy showing off her toy skills, and I was busy being very impressed. So I decided to do what any good reporter would do, I interviewed her.
Pull up a chair and check out what Layla had to say.
Jonah: First things first, can you tell everyone who you are?
Layla: Hi there! I’m Layla, I’m about 3.5 years old, and I weigh around 50 pounds. That makes my body medium sized, but my personality is the size of a mastiff! I am your typical boxer mix, quirky, spunky, and always ready for my next adventure.
Jonah: I’ve noticed you’ve got some serious energy. What does your perfect day look like?
Layla: Oh, I like to start with a car ride, windows cracked, nose in the breeze, sniffing all the smells the world has to offer. After that, I’m all about walks, runs, and zoomies in the yard. Once I’ve played hard, I nap even harder, especially if there’s a sunny deck involved.
Jonah: Sounds pawsome. How are your manners? Asking for…professional reasons.
Layla: Very refined, thank you! I’m crate trained, house trained, and I take treats gently. I know my basics, sit, stay, come, and off. Bath time? No problem. Snuggles? Always welcome.
Jonah: Let’s talk about your dream home. What kind of place are you hoping for?
Layla: I’m looking for a home where I can be the one and only furry queen. I really shine best as the only pet, so I can focus all my love and loyalty on my people. I’ve done great with older kids (9 and up), and I love having humans who enjoy being active, going on walks, and spending time outside.
Jonah: I’ve seen you running the fence line with the neighbor dogs. What’s the story there?
Layla: That’s my fun exception! I’m polite and playful with them through the fence, we like to run along together like a little race team. But in my home, I prefer to keep things simple and peaceful with just my humans.
Jonah: Any health or training updates our readers should know?
Layla: I’m healthy, heartworm negative, crate trained, and house trained. I’ve got my full, long tail and a whole lot of love to wag with it.
Jonah’s Notes from the Field
From my side of the fence, I can tell you this: Layla is confident, playful, and deeply devoted to her people. She’s the kind of dog who will run beside you on your adventures and then claim a sunny spot nearby to nap while you relax. She doesn’t need a house full of animals to feel complete, she just needs her humans.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves car rides, outdoor time, and quiet snuggles after a day of fun, Layla might just be your perfect match. Reach out to your Area Coordinator for more information!
