3/26/2025:  Greetings to all esteemed friends and fellow dog enthusiasts, I am delighted to bring you some wonderful news regarding Rue’s journey!

Rue is now officially available for adoption, and this marks a significant milestone. Having recently undergone spaying and received veterinary clearance on March 24th, she is in need of some time to recuperate. However, her foster parents have assured us that this aligns perfectly with CBR’s requirement for a period of decompression, making it an opportune moment for Rue to begin her search for a forever home.

About Rue: Since the last update on March 13th, when Rue was believed to be eight months old, we have come to realize that she is actually closer to one year old. Despite this, Rue remains every bit the playful puppy she has always been, with all the delightful traits her foster parents previously described still holding true.

In recent weeks, Rue has demonstrated further admirable qualities. She has shown proficiency in walking on a leash, and during a CBR event at a dog park, despite not being able to participate due to her spay status, Rue impressed everyone with her calm demeanor behind a gate, graciously accepting the attention of both dogs and humans alike. Rue has developed a particular fondness for Doodles, perhaps influenced by her foster parents’ grand dog, who is a Doodle himself. Rue’s ability to keep up with him, despite her shorter legs, was a delightful surprise to all. While she enjoys playful boxing with her Boxer foster brother, having a companion to run with brings her immense joy.

Ideal Home: Rue is seeking a loving family with the time and energy to embrace an “adult” puppy. She would thrive in an environment with an active and fun-loving family, where she can continue to play and learn. Rue is highly sociable with other dogs and would greatly benefit from having a playmate.

We hope to find Rue a home where her lively spirit and affectionate nature will be cherished and nurtured.

3/13/2025:  Hello, pups and peeps! Rue here. I was rescued from the highway by a kind lady who managed to get in touch with CBR. Since she was going out of town, she couldn’t keep me and didn’t want to take me to a shelter. Thankfully, one person talked to another, and my foster parents (FPs) agreed to meet her and take me into CBR for a stray hold to ensure my family wasn’t looking for me. Once that time was up, CBR and my FPs took me to the vet to make sure I was healthy. I needed a little vet care, but nothing they couldn’t fix right up!

I’m looking for a fun-loving, active family that can keep up with my playful antics while also helping me become the good girl my FPs know I can be!

Did someone say treats? I am a fast learner when it comes to those! I am not picky at all! I’ve learned commands like “kennel,” “sit,” “stay,” and “lay down.” I’m working on “wait,” which is a little harder for me, but I manage to do it most of the time.

Kids? Did someone say kids? Oh, I love them so much! I want to hug them, shower them with kisses, and make them love me! My FPs are helping me understand my size and energy. I might be too much for some little ones! However, with time, patience, and practice, I know I can learn to be the perfect companion. Since I’m a 51-pound puppy, I might not do well with kids who don’t understand that I don’t mean to push them over or accidentally tear up their toys if they leave them out.

Do you have some doggy friends for me? I love to romp and roll! I might be too much for my foster brother, who is 8 years old. He does his best to keep up with me! My foster parents say he has lived with older dogs since his rescue, so he’s gotten used to a more laid-back lifestyle. Would your dog(s) be tolerant of my playful energy?

Regarding cats, I haven’t had any experience with them. Given my energy and lack of awareness of my size, my FPs would say “no” to that! They don’t want me to accidentally harm anyone. I wouldn’t mean to! I tend to chase leaves when the wind blows, so who knows what would happen if a fluffy toy ran away from me! I don’t have a prey drive, but my FPs feel it’s too risky.

So, do you and your family have the time, patience, and the right home for me? I truly hope so! My FPs are excited to share more information about me when the time comes for us to match up!

I wish us both the best of luck in finding a forever home for me and a furry friend for you and your family!

Love,
Rue 🐾❤️💕
