5/7/2026: Apollo here with an update! I’m officially healed up from my surgery, and my vet says I’m good to go. (I’d like to thank my medical team, my foster parents, and snacks.)

Now for my honest truth: I’m still learning that new humans aren’t undercover mail carriers with suspicious intentions. Right now, my “trusted inner circle” is very exclusive (foster mom and foster dad), and strangers can feel a little too much for me.

The good news: my rescue team is helping me level up my confidence. I’ve recently started Prozac, and I’ll be working with a certified trainer to tackle my reactivity and “stranger danger” at a pace that keeps me feeling safe and successful.

At home? Foster mom and dad say I’m basically a perfect gentleman. I’m the kind of dog who thrives with routine, clear boundaries, and people who speak fluent “good boy.” Once I trust you, I’m all in.

My ideal forever home looks like:

  • A patient, dog-savvy adopter who understands trust is earned (and will celebrate the little wins)
  • A calm home where I can decompress and keep building confidence
  • People who will follow my training plan and let me meet new humans slowly and, on my terms,
  • A commitment to positive-reinforcement training (I respond best to kindness, consistency, and treats)

I know some of you have been waiting for me to be ready, and I’m so grateful. I’m not quite there yet—but give me a few months of training, confidence-building, and steady support, and I’m hopeful I’ll be ready to start interviewing for my forever family. Until then, please keep cheering me on (and telling me I’m handsome—I respond well to that).

Love,
Apollo  🐾

3/20/2026: 🐾 Hi! I’m Apollo, and I’m looking for my forever humans. 🐾

Once I decide you’re my person, I’m all in—sweet, cuddly, and happiest right by your side. I love being close to my trusted humans and soaking up all the affection.

New people make me a little nervous at first, so I appreciate slow introductions and patience while I warm up. Give me a little time, and my gentle, loving personality really shines. I also do best when I have a cozy safe space to relax and decompress.

I’m more of a homebody than a party pup—crowded patios and busy outings aren’t my thing. My dream setup? A calm home with a secure fenced yard where I can sniff, stretch, and enjoy the outdoors safely.

Right now, I’m recovering from TPLO knee surgery and have about 8 weeks left of taking it easy. With a patient human helping me follow my recovery plan, I’ll be back to my best self soon.

One thing I always love? Car rides! Window down, ears flapping—count me in.

I’m looking for an experienced, understanding adopter who can help me keep building confidence and working through my triggers. With consistency, patience, and lots of love, I’ll be the most loyal sidekick you could ask for. 🐾❤

2/15/2026: Hi there, future family! My name’s Apollo, but you can call me “Best Friend in Training.” I’m the kind of dog who doesn’t just want to be part of your life — I want to be smack in the middle of it! Loyalty is basically my middle name, and I take my job as Your Number One Companion very seriously (did someone say “personal bodyguard”? Oh, that’s me!). If you need a buddy who’s always got your back — and yes, your lap — I am absolutely your guy.

Here’s the scoop: I’m happiest when I’m together with my humans. Alone time? Not really my vibe; I’d rather be by your side, soaking up all the love and attention. Sure, I’ll go in my crate if you ask nicely, but let’s be honest — the coziest spot is right next to you. When bedtime rolls around, I become Apollo the Snuggle Champion, ready to turn your pillow into a cuddle headquarters. Personal space? Never heard of it!

Give me a walk and I’ll show you my happy dance — the sound of a leash jingling is basically music to my ears! And if you say “car ride,” I’m already in the passenger seat, tail wagging and ready for adventure. I get along well with my foster siblings and enjoy making doggie friends, though I like to take my time getting to know new faces (dogs and humans alike). I’m still learning that the world is full of fans just waiting to cheer me on — but once I trust you, my goofy, affectionate side comes out in full force.

What I’m looking for is a home where I can stick close to my people in a calm, steady environment. If you’re patient and have a soft spot for a loyal sidekick, I promise to return the favor with endless cuddles, a listening ear (or two), and all the Nub wags you can handle. Are you ready for a lifetime of adventures and snuggles? Because I sure am! 💕🐕 🐾
